The Comparison of Emulated Multispectral Scanner Data Sets

چکیده
ABSTRACf The National Agricultural Statistics Service used LANDSAT multispectral scanner (MSS) data to aid regression estimates of acreage for major crops during 1980-1987. Future LANDSAT satellites will not have the MSS scanner, but will have a thematic mapper (TM) scanner. TM data is more expensive to purchase and process for large areas because of its higher spatial and spectral resolution. In this study TM data was reduced to resemble or "emulate" MSS data. Four emulations, averaged versus sampled TM data for two different band combinations, were evaluated as possible replacements for the MSS data in crop acreage regression estimates. * * * This paper was prepared tor limited distribution to the research community * * outside the U.S. Department of Agriculture, The views expressed herein are * * not necessarily those of NASS or USDA. Spectral Estimation of Printed Colors Using a Scanner, Conventional Color Filters and applying backpropagation Neural Network
Reconstruction the spectral data of color samples using conventional color devices such as a digital camera or scanner is always of interest. Nowadays, multispectral imaging has introduced a feasible method to estimate the spectral reflectance of the images utilizing more than three-channel imaging. The goal of this study is to spectrally characterize a color scanner using a set of conventional...

متن کاملHierarchical Classification of Multitemporal/Multispectral Scanner Data
Most techniques for computer classification of multispectral scanner data involve a "single-stage" approach in which every pixel in the data is classified in a single step, using a single set of training statistics and a single set of wave length bands. Hierarchical classifiers, on the other hand, involve a sequence of classification steps, each of which can involve a different wavelength band ...
متن کاملSurface emittance, temperature, and thermal inertia derived from Thermal Infrared Multispectral Scanner (TIMS) data for Death Valley, California
The NASA airborne Thermal Infrared Multispectral Scanner (TIMS) was flown over Death Valley, California on both a daytime flight and a nighttime flight within a two-day period in July 1983. This Daedulus scanner has six channels in the thermal infrared, between 8 and 12 pm. Calibrated digital spectral radiance data from these flights, along with Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) reflectance data, pe...
